Dallas Love Field (IATA: DAL, ICAO: KDAL, FAA LID: DAL) is a city-owned public airport 6 miles (10 km) northwest of downtown Dallas, Texas. It was Dallas’ main airport until 1974 when Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) opened.

Southwest Airlines’ corporate headquarters is at Love Field, and Dallas is a focus city for them. Seven full service fixed base operators (FBOs) provide general aviation service: fuel, maintenance, hangar rentals, and charters. Some also provide meeting rooms, car rentals, limousine service and restaurants.

Love Field’s passenger terminals have 19 gates, divided into two terminals: 1 and 2. Terminal 1 (United & Delta) has four gates: 29–32 (Terminal 1 will close in October 2014). Terminal 2 (Southwest) has 15 gates: 1–12, 14, 15 (Gates 5-15 are now Closed) & Gates 2-4 have been renumbered as Gates 42-44. North Concourse (Southwest) Gates 1-11 opened on April 16, 2013. Gate 12 opened July 2013. Eight additional North Concourse Gates will open in October 2014.
