Southampton Airport (IATA: SOU, ICAO: EGHI) is an airport in the UK, located 3.5 NM (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) north north-east of Southampton, in the Borough of Eastleigh within Hampshire, England.

The Southampton Airport is owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings, which also owns and operates three other UK airports, and is itself owned by FGP TopCo Limited, an international consortium, which includes Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and GIC Special Investments, that is led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group.

Southampton Airport handled 1,694,120 passengers during 2012, a 6.6% reduction compared with 2011, making it the 18th busiest airport in the UK. Southampton Airport has a CAA Public Use Aerodrome Licence (Number P690) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction.

Power Sockets – If you need to recharge or power your electronics, there are a few locations that provide free power sockets. Location: Boingo desks, departure lounge and Mitchell’s Bar & Kitchen.

Smoking Areas – There is a designated smoking area located outside on the central forecourt. Electronic cigarettes are permitted inside the terminal.
Viewing Areas – If you want to watch the aircraft, there is a viewing area on the upper level of the departure lounge in Costa Coffee that overlooks the runway.
Internet: Free WiFi is available at the Southampton Airport for 30 minutes. Connect to the “Free SOU Airport” network. After 30 minutes you can buy extra time. Additionally, Internet kiosks can be found Landside (near the airport help point) and Airside (on the upper level of the departure lounge, next to the viewing area). Provided by Spectrum Interactive for a fee.
